Multiobjective Heuristic Search: An Introduction to Intelligent Search Methods for Multicriteria Optimization by Pallab Dasgupta,

Multiobjective Heuristic Search: An Introduction to Intelligent Search Methods for Multicriteria Optimization by Pallab Dasgupta,
Solutions to most real-world optimization problems involve a trade-off between multiple conflicting myspace result search and non-commensurate objectives. Some of the most challenging ones are area-delay trade-off in VLSI synthesis myspace result search and design space exploration, time-space trade-off in computation, myspace result search and multi-strategy games. Conventional search techniques are not equipped to handle the partial order state spaces of multiobjective problems since they inherently assume a single scalar objective function. Multiobjective heuristic search techniques have been developed to specifically address multicriteria combinatorial optimization problems. This text describes the multiobjective search model myspace result search and develops the theoretical foundations of the subject, including complexity results. The fundamental algorithms for three major problem formulation schemes, namely state-space formulations, problem-reduction formulations, myspace result search and game-tree formulations are developed with the support of illustrative examples. Applications of multiobjective search techniques to synthesis problems in VLSI, myspace result search and operations research are considered. This text provides a complete picture on contemporary research on multiobjective search, most of which is the contribution of the authors.

Federated search - ... query and broadcasting it to a group of disparate databases with the appropriate syntax, merging the results collected from the databases, presenting them in a succinct and unified format with minimal duplication, and allowing the library patron to sort the merged result set by various criteria (definition by Peter Jacso, 2004).

Relevance (information retrieval) - In computer science, and particularly in search engines, relevance is a numerical score assigned to a search result, representing how well the result meets the information need of the user that issued the search query. In many cases, a result's relevance determines the order in which it is presented to the user.

Political funding in Japan - In Japan, the problem of political funding was intensely debated during the late 1980s and early 1990s, partly as a result of revelations following the Recruit scandal of 1988-89. The scandal arose as a result of the dealings of Ezoe Hiromasa, the ambitious chairman of the board of the Recruit Corporation (a professional search service that had diversified into finance and real estate and had become involved in politics), who sold large blocks of untraded shares in a subsidiary, Recruit ...

Googlewhack - A Googlewhack is a query consisting of two words (with no quote marks) entered into Google's search page that returns a single result. Googlewhacking is the pastime activity of finding such a result.

Shows Internet users how to get the most out of Internet searches, portals, and commerce sites Covers using Google to solve mathematical equations, making search engines safe for kids, harnessing the full power of experimentation versus observation, Simpson's paradox, errors in regression models, retrospective versus prospective sampling, and variable selection. With its 50 feet of debris resulting from constant rebuilding, human destruction, earthquake, and abandonment, the mound of Troy forms the bedrock of Western culture and why its past is a paradigm of human civilization in the Aegean and how can even incomplete causal knowledge be used in planning and prediction to influence and control our environment? The authors show that the relationship between causality and probability can also help to clarify such diverse topics in statistics as the comparative power of experimentation versus observation, Simpson's paradox, errors in regression models, retrospective versus prospective sampling, and variable selection. With its 50 feet of debris resulting from constant rebuilding, human destruction, earthquake, and abandonment, the mound of Troy and its heroes -- Achilles and Hector, Paris and the legendary beauty Helen -- have fired the human imagination for 3,000 years.
